Description
Hymn for String Orchestra was premiered in 1995 by the San Jose Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Barbara Day Turner. The same ensemble later issued a recording of the work. The title is not meant to reference anything religious, but more to indicate something of a gentle, reassuring and soothing nature, “hymn-like” in quality.
